Integration of external hardware
Today, Lynx 360° allows full integration of the new portable wireless Symbol terminals (PDA range). These industrial standard products are envisioned for store use (integrated 2D bar code reader, photo, substantial autonomy / battery life), and work in real-time.
Avantages of these integrations with the Lynx 360®° software package
These new technologies assure the smooth running of a number of important in-shop tasks. To name only a few:
- Reduced customer waiting time (queue busting)
In the field of distribution and in particular for gardening, the strong points of turnover(lots of customers) lead to client dissatisfaction (lots of waiting). Yet increasing the number of cash-registers generates significant cost, in terms of infrastructure and personel. The PDA, linked to a printe, however, permits scanning of a client's items ahead of the check-out line, and this information can be transmitted to the cashier so that only the actual payment takes place there (and not the time consuming scanning).
- Client advice: upon presentation of his or her card, a sales person will have immediate knowledge of a client's purchase history and thus be able to manage the client's particular needs for a subsequent sale (replacement item, compatible pieces, identical paint types, etc).
- Handling stock shortage situations: a real-time connection will permit the seller to inform the client about the soonest availability of an article or to suggest an appropriate replacement item.
- Statement change (recalibration with competitors) or immediate release/creation of a promotion by publishing an appropriate tag.
- The "classic" functions:
- Supply-side orders
Orders taken with full information on the through-put averages, or current orders already pending
- Supplier delivery
With direct checking of missing items and discrepencies in quantity (delivered versus expected).
- Inventory / dissociation
Direct verification by PDA of any discrepency between actual and recorded inventory.
- Sales at remote points in the shop (fixed /modile PDA) with recuperation in real-time of information in the regester (ready for payment when the customer arrives)..
Statistics on small islands for dissociation analysis or salesperson sales figures.
